During National Health Center Week from August 2 to 8, Fidelis Care recognizes the community health centers that help New Yorkers access the care they need to live healthier lives. Across cities, suburbs, and rural areas, these organizations provide quality healthcare, connect people with important resources, and help improve the health of their communities.
Community health centers do far more than provide medical care. They break down barriers to health by offering compassionate, affordable services close to home and ensuring patients receive the support they need.
At Harmony Healthcare Long Island, that commitment begins with a simple but powerful belief. "We are much more than a doctor's office. We are a place where people are welcomed, supported, and cared for," said Melinda Carbonell, Director of Care Coordination. “Our goal is to remove the barriers to care so that everyone has the opportunity to live a healthier life. Every day our team is committed to making a positive difference in the communities that we serve."
In Rochester, Anthony Jordan Health Center has been a trusted resource for generations. Dr. Fredrick Johnson, Interim President and CEO, said, “We are one of the staple health centers in the northeast section of the city of Rochester, providing care for anyone, not based on their ability to pay. We provide excellent services in a cross-section of healthcare opportunities. We are here to serve the community."
Whitney Young Health in the Capital Region shares that same commitment. “Whitney Young Health provides cost-effective healthcare designed to ensure that all of our patients get the care they deserve at a cost they can afford," said Angela Doe, Chief Behavioral Health Officer. Through innovative programs and patient-centered care, the organization helps ensure individuals and families can access the services they need to stay healthy.
Fidelis Care is pleased to partner with community health centers across New York State. Together, we help connect individuals and families to health insurance coverage, preventive services, and the care they need to thrive.
This National Health Center Week, we celebrate the healthcare professionals, care teams, and community health centers that make a lasting difference every day. Their dedication strengthens communities, expands access to care, and helps build a healthier future for all New Yorkers.
