You can begin your search with the "Basic Search Options" section. This section includes the bare minimum needed to bring up Doctor, Pharmacy or Dentist results tailored to you. The options available in this section as as follows:
• Zip Code/Within Miles
When just a zip code is entered, it will only bring up providers within that zip code. To expand your search, you may include a range of miles around that zip code. The range will be determined from the center of the zip code.
• Last Name:
The last name of the provider, pharmacy or dentist. You may further filter this by choosing to search anywhere in the name, or simply the begining of the last name.
• Practice Name:
The paractice, or site name, of the provider, pharmacy or dentist. You may further filter this by choosing to search anywhere in the name, or simply the begining of the last name.
• Wheelchair Access:
Checking this box will only bring up providers listed as having wheelchair access.
• Board Certified:
Checking this box will only bring up providers listed as having being board certified.
• Language:
Choosing an option from this list will bring up providers listed as speaking the selected language.
• State:
Choosing an option will only bring up providers located in the chosen state.
• County:
Choosing a county from this list will limit the list of providers to those with the selected county as a servicing county. They do not have to be located in a particular county in order to be listed as servicing the county.
• Sort By:
This will change the default sorting option of the results.
You can further limit your options by only including selected lines of business. The Three options include:
• Has Line of Business
The provider, pharmacy or dentist is listed as participating with this line of business.
• Participating/NOT Accepting Patients
The provider, pharmacy or dentist is listed as participating, however is not listed as accepting new patients at this time.
• Participating/Accepting Patients
The provider, pharmacy or dentist is listed as participating and accepting new patients.
• Provider Type:
This will limit the results to a particular section. This includes Primary Care Providers, Dental Providers, Pharmacies and Specialists. Making a choice here will change available options listed under "Specialty" below.
• Specialty:
This will limit the results to a specific specialty. If "Provider Type" above is left blank, all options will be available. If a choice is made in "Provider Type," the Specialty list will be filtered to include only those specialties from within the chosen Provider Type.
• Hospital:
This will limit providers to those affiliated with the chosen Hospital. Also, instead of choosing a Hospital from the list, you may all also enter part of the name below.
• Looking for a Primary Care Provider in your area.
In order to get a quick list of results, there are only a couple fields required. Begin by entering you zip code in the "Zip Code" field. Leave the "miles" option blank at this time. Look down to the "Advanced Options" section. Once there, under "Provider Type," choose "PRIMARY CARE PROVIDER" from the list. From here you can futher limit down your options by using such fields as "Language" or any of the "Line of Business Options". If you do not get the results you desire, best choice would be to enter an option in the "miles" field. Start with a smaller number and work up to a larger number. For example, search with an additional 5 miles and check the results again. If it still is not enough, continue to 10 miles, and so forth.
• Looking for a Specialist in your area.
Much like looking for a Primary Care Provider, there are only a couple fields required. Begin by entering you zip code in the "Zip Code" field. Leave the "miles" option blank at this time. Look down to the "Advanced Options" section. Once there, under "Provider Type," choose "SPECIALIST" from the list. Now look at the "Specialty" field. Simply find the specialty you would like to find, and choose it form the list. From here you can futher limit down your options by using such fields as "Language" or any of the "Line of Business Options". If you do not get the results you desire, best choice would be to enter an option in the "miles" field. Start with a smaller number and work up to a larger number. For example, search with an additional 5 miles and check the results again. If it still is not enough, continue to 10 miles, and so forth. If you can not find the specialty you are looking for, under "Provider Type", select the first, blank option. This will reset the "Specialty" field and in in will include any available option. Again, simply look though the list under "Specialty," and attempt to locate the specialty you are looking for.
• Looking for a Pharmacy, Dentist or Vision provider in your area.
Like the previous searches, there again, are only a couple fields required. Begin by entering you zip code in the "Zip Code" field. Leave the "miles" option blank at this time. Look down to the "Advanced Options" section. Once there, under "Provider Type," from the list, choose "DENTAL" for a Dentist search, "VISION" for a Vision provider search, or "PHARMACY" for a Pharmacy search. You again can futher limit down your options by using such fields as "Specialty," "Language," or any of the "Line of Business Options". If you do not get the results you desire, best choice would be to enter an option in the "miles" field. Start with a smaller number and work up to a larger number. For example, search with an additional 5 miles and check the results again. If it still is not enough, continue to 10 miles, and so forth.
