Hispanic Heritage Month is a special time of year for me because it is an opportunity to celebrate where we come from, the traditions that unite us, and the contributions that generations of Hispanic Americans have made to this country. At Goya Foods, our heritage is at the heart of who we are. Founded 90 years ago by Spanish immigrants, Goya has grown from a small family business into the largest Hispanic-owned food company in the United States, while remaining deeply connected to the families and communities we serve.
For me, recognizing Hispanic Heritage Month goes beyond celebrating our food, music, and traditions. It is also about recognizing our responsibility to give back and help build healthier, stronger communities. Food is an important part of our culture, but it is also an important part of our health and well-being. At Goya, we work to make nutritious, high-quality foods accessible while encouraging families to come together around the table and make informed choices about what they eat.
Our commitment extends well beyond the grocery aisle. Through Goya Gives, we support organizations and initiatives focused on hunger relief, nutrition, education, health, culture, and community development. Over the years, Goya has donated millions of pounds of food to schools, food banks, hospitals, healthcare providers, and community organizations.
Partnerships are an important part of how we turn that commitment into action. Our work with Fidelis Care is a great example. Together, we provide families with nutritious food, and Fidelis Care connects them with resources and opportunities that support better health and wellness. We understand that improving health means meeting people where they are and addressing barriers that can prevent families from accessing care and resources. Our community outreach includes culturally relevant food and multilingual services, health education, and initiatives addressing food access and health equity.
Hispanic Heritage Month reminds us that our culture is one of our greatest strengths. It is reflected in the foods we share, the traditions we pass down, and the way we care for one another. At Goya, we are proud to celebrate that heritage not just for one month, but every day through our commitment to family, community, nutrition, and giving back.
Our heritage is our foundation. Together, we can use it to build a healthier future for generations to come.
