The New York State Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) Medicaid Program is an electronic system that verifies when provider visits occur and captures the date and time of the visit, the location of the visit, the person who received the services, the person who provided the services, and the services provided. New York State is mandated to implement Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) for all Medicaid-funded personal care services (PCS) and home health care services (HHCS) that require an in-home visit by a provider.
The following are the compliance deadlines established by the Cures Act:
• Personal Care Services – 1/1/2021*
• Home Health Care Services – 1/1/2023
Fidelis Care has received details regarding the Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) Program which provides an overview of the NYS EVV Program, providers that are subject to EVV, program and policy requirements, technical system requirements, and steps on how to begin working with NYSDOH.
