Clarification Regarding Update to Non-Obstetric Ultrasound Authorization Requirements

Fidelis Care would like to remind our providers that non-obstetric ultrasounds, previously managed by vendor eviCore, no longer require prior approval. Please note that the only ultrasound authorizations that National Imaging Associates, Inc. (NIA) does manage is for echocardiogram and stress echocardiograms.
Further information can be found on our published authorization grids which have been updated for October 2021. Additionally, please refer to the Utilization Review Matrix supplied by NIA, which can be found under the vendor’s designated banner on the Submit Authorization Requests page of fideliscare.org.
