Renew Your Coverage

Every Year, Fidelis Care members must renew their health coverage. How you renew your coverage will depend on what type of health coverage you have. To get started, select your current health coverage:



Medicaid Managed Care
You must renew your coverage once per year.
Before it's time to renew, you will receive a notice in the mail that will tell you everything you need to know about renewing your coverage.
If you are a HealthierLife Health and Recovery Plan (HARP) member, you will still renew your coverage through your local Department of Social Services or Human Resources (HRA) Center.

If you haven't received a notice or have questions:

Essential Plan

You must renew your coverage once per year. Before it's time to renew, you will receive a notice by mail, email, or phone that will tell you everything you need to know about renewing your coverage. 

If you haven't received a notice, or you have questions:

Child Health Plus

If your child has the New York State-sponsored Child Health Plus plan offered by Fidelis Care, their coverage must be renewed once per year. 

You should expect a notice about 60 to 90 days before your child's coverage is due to renew.

If you haven't received a notice, need help, or your child has turned 19 and is no longer eligible for Child Health Plus:

Metal-Level Products
If you have a Fidelis Care Metal Level Product or Qualified Health Plan through NY State of Health, The Official Health Plan Marketplace, you can elect to keep or change your health coverage during the annual Open Enrollment period. 
Open Enrollment takes place from November 1, 2018 to January 31, 2019, for health coverage in 2019.
Before it's time to renew, you will receive a notice by mail, email, or phone that will tell you everything you need to know about renewing your coverage. If you have questions about renewing your current coverage, or your health care needs have changed:

You can also renew your coverage directly with the NY State of Health.To get started:

  1. Visit www.nystateofhealth.ny.gov and click on "Get Started."
  2. Follow the instructions to create a NY.Gov ID if you don't already have one.
  3. After logging in, you will need to enter your invitation code. This is included in the letter you received (located under step 2 in the instructions).
  4. Follow the instructions on the NY State of Health website to finish your renewal.

HealthierLife (HARP)
You may need to renew your coverage in the New York State Medicaid Program once per year. Before it's time to renew, you will receive a notice by mail, email, or phone that will tell you everything you need to know about renewing your coverage. 
If you haven't received a notice, or you have questions:
Fidelis Care at Home (MLTC)
You must renew the Medicaid portion of your coverage once per year. Before it's time to renew, you will receive a notice in the mail that will tell you everything you need to know about renewing your coverage. 

If you haven't received a notice, or you have questions:

Metal-Level Products (Off-Exchange)

If you have purchased a Metal-Level Product directly from Fidelis Care, your coverage will automatically renew each January 1, as long as you are still eligible for your coverage. 

Each year, by the end of October, you will receive a renewal notice from Fidelis Care that outlines any changes in your coverage and details options for selecting a new plan, if desired. 

If you have questions about renewing your current coverage, or your health care needs have changed:

Medicare Advantage

As a Medicare Advantage member, you do not go through a renewal process in order to keep your current coverage from year to year. 

However, you can choose to change your Medicare Advantage coverage between October 15 and December 7 (Annual Election Period) for coverage effective on January 1 of the following year. 

Dual Advantage

If you have Fidelis Care Dual Advantage health coverage, and you are enrolled in the New York State Medicaid Program, you must renew the Medicaid portion of your coverage once per year. You will receive a notice in the mail that will tell you everything you need to know about renewing your coverage.
