Fluoride varnish is a safe dental treatment that helps prevent or slow down tooth decay in young children. Fluoride varnish can be applied by a medical or dental provider. Information for improving the oral health of young children is available on the New York State Department of Health website.
Consider applying fluoride varnish in your office, or you can refer your patient to a DentaQuest dental provider. You can also help your patients by reminding parents that regular visits to the dentist are essential for keeping teeth and gums healthy.
