The Police Athletic League of Buffalo, Inc., is a not-for-profit organization that supports the City of Buffalo's youth.

This support includes recreational, educational, cultural, environmental, and preventive program activities.  PAL uses professional recreation and law enforcement personnel in an effort to provide leadership, direction, and an opportunity for those youth to become responsible, successful adults. 

Fidelis Care supports PAL's summer reading challenge and attends the awards ceremony for champion readers.

Backpack Heroes is a special program designed to fight weekend hunger coordinated by Fidelis Care, The Food Bank of Northeastern New York, and WRGB-Channel 6. 

Through the program, participating students receive backpacks full of food each Friday to help ensure they do not go hungry over the weekend when they are not in school.

Each year, Backpack Heroes is supported by caring community members, whose donations help to fight weekend hunger. Over the past nine years, Fidelis Care has raised over $715,000 for this cause.

The Strong Museum of Play in Rochester is a highly interactive, collections-based educational institution devoted to the study and exploration of play. It serves diverse audiences, especially families, children, educators, and scholars.

Fidelis Care collaborates with the museum to foster health and physical education for individuals and families by participating in Kids Fit Day and through social media posts throughout the year.

The city of Rochester’s Public Market serves the Rochester community by offering affordable and nutritious fruits, vegetables, and other foods from hundreds of vendors throughout the year. In addition, the Market hosts over 50 free special events every year to educate and enrich the community. 

In partnership with the Public Market, Cornell Cooperative Extension, and UR Wilmot Cancer Institute, Fidelis Care promotes and educates the public on the importance of nutrition for a healthy lifestyle. Cooking demonstrations and other events are held throughout the year with a focus on health education. Fidelis Care will also share information via Rochester Public Market’s different digital platforms.  In addition, Fidelis Care sponsors the annual Halloween at the Market event.

In addition to our on-site appearances at games, Fidelis Care sponsors the Bulls' Football Clinic, which provides a free day of play and instruction to local children in downtown Buffalo. Other initiatives include Fidelis Care’s presence at the university’s Welcome Weekend event and our sponsorship of the UB Bulls’ Read Across America program. To support literacy in the community, student-athletes read books donated through the program to school children in the city.

A 13-day showcase of agriculture, entertainment, education, and technology, the Great New York State Fair is held annually at the end of August and the start of September. 

Fidelis Care is on site throughout the Fair, and is proud to sponsor a number of events during those 13 days.    

Dates for the Fair in 2025 are August 20-September 1.
