Now Available! Medicare Advantage and Dual Advantage 2018 Formularies

Brokers can now download the 2018 Medicare Advantage and Dual Advantage formularies. Formularies can change each year, and this year's formularies include some updates. 

  • The 2018 Formulary for Fidelis Dual Advantage, Fidelis Medicaid Advantage Plus and Fidelis Dual Advantage Members is available here
  • An additional drug list for Fidelis Dual Advantage and Fidelis Medicaid Advantage Plus members is available here.
  • The 2018 Formulary for Fidelis Medicare Advantage Flex (HMO POS) and Fidelis Medicare $0 Premium (HMO) members is available here

Find a Doctor Online Search

Finding a provider is each with Fidelis Care's Provider Directory online tool. Visit fideliscare.org/findadoctor to search for health care providers and facilities within Fidelis Care's provider network. 

Just type your desired location, select your current Fidelis Care health coverage, and enter the type of care or service you want. A list of providers matching your search will appear. 

Remember, if your clients need help making an appointment, they can call Member Services at 1-888-FIDELIS (1-888-343-3547); TTY: 1-800-421-1220.

New Online Payment System for Fidelis Care Members Launches October 5

Thanks to valued feedback from members, Fidelis Care is excited to launch a new and improved online payment system on October 5.

The new system, provided by Payspan, will make it easier for members to make payments, check balances, and keep track of transactions from within the Fidelis Care Member Portal. It will also enable members to sign up for automatic payments, and even receive mobile text alerts about account activity.

As part of the transition to the new payment system, a series of member communications will guide members through updating their Member Portal passwords and setting up new automatic payment (AutoPay) schedules. In order to set up AutoPay, members must first change their Member Portal password. They can do so by logging in to the Member Portal and clicking the “change your password” message on the welcome page. 

Fidelis Care to Join with Centene, One of Largest Medicaid Managed Care Organizations in the Country

Fidelis Care has taken a major step toward ensuring that our mission will be strengthened for the future by announcing that we have reached an agreement under which Fidelis Care will become Centene’s health plan in New York State. Centene will maintain the Fidelis Care name, mission, management team and staff, and our grassroots, community-based approach will continue across New York State.

This announcement is the result of a lengthy, comprehensive review of strategic options by our Board of Directors, in partnership with executive leaders, to determine how we could best continue our mission and position Fidelis Care for the future.

By joining with Centene, Fidelis Care will have the support, investment, and innovation that are necessary to meet the health care needs of our members today and in the future. Centene’s scale, expertise, and resources – including its advanced data and analytics – will enable us to further enhance the well-being of Fidelis Care’s members and continue to build linkages and systems for the coordination of care and services. Our shared goal is to improve the health care experience not only for members, but also for providers.

Most importantly, Fidelis Care’s mission and values are shared by Centene. Centene’s core philosophy is that quality healthcare is best delivered locally, and that a local, decentralized approach helps to provide members with access to high-quality and culturally sensitive care and service. Fidelis Care has always focused on this local commitment. Our relationship with Centene will enhance our work together on behalf of members and providers.

Please note that until the closing, Fidelis Care and Centene remain separate companies, and all current contracts remain in effect. There is nothing that Fidelis Care members need to do. Members will continue to use their Fidelis Care member ID card, and have the same coverage and benefits.

Brokers can now download the Producer Program Contact List from Fidelis Care’s Broker Resources page. This list includes the contact information of all the Territory Sales Specialists, the Broker Program Coordinator, and the Program Manager. The Producer Program Contact List is available here.

Question: I have a Dual Advantage client who is having difficulty obtaining diabetic supplies. Who can I refer my client to?

Answer: Fidelis Care assigns a Nurse Care Manager to all of our Dual Advantage members. Brokers can call 1-800-247-1447 (TTY: 1-800-695-8544), their Territory Sales Specialist, or the Broker Program Coordinator, and they can ask for a Nurse Care Manager to reach out directly to a member about a particular need.

Reminder: Submit Your AHIP Medicare Training Certificate

In order to remain eligible to sell Fidelis Medicare Advantage and Dual Advantage products for 2018, brokers must email their AHIP Online Medicare Training Course completion certificate to Katie Schlie at medicareenrollmentforms@fideliscare.org. The deadline to submit certificates is October 1, 2017.

This AHIP training on Medicare and Fraud, Waste, and Abuse is available here. Instructions on how to complete the course and download the completion certificate are available here.

Coming Soon: Medicare Annual Election Period and Open Enrollment for Qualified Health Plans through the New York State of Health Marketplace

The Medicare Annual Election Period starts October 15 and ends December 7 for benefits starting January 1, 2018. Brokers enrolling members should view the Online Medicare Application Process presentation before completing the application online. Brokers can enroll members online here.

Open enrollment for Qualified Health Plans starts on November 1 and ends January 31, 2018. Individuals must enroll by December 15 for coverage that starts January 1, 2018. Enrollment for these products can be completed through NY State of Health, The Official Health Plan Marketplace on their website, available here. The Summary of Benefits and Coverage for Qualified Health Plans is available at Fidelis Care’s Broker Resources site.

Metal-Level Products for 2017

Fidelis Care has made some changes to our Metal-Level products effective January 1, 2017.

  • Fidelis Care will be offering Metal-Level products both on and off-exchange.
  • Fidelis Care will pay the same commission amount for sales on and off-exchange.
  • There is a specific process for enrolling in Fidelis Care off-exchange products that must be followed and all producers must be trained and sign off on the policies and procedures for off-exchange production in advance of any enrollment submission.

Medicare Advantage and Dual Advantage Products for 2017

Fidelis Care has made some changes to our Medicare Advantage products effective January 1, 2017:

  • Plan 003, Medicare Advantage Flex, is no longer available in 2017 in Dutchess, Ulster, Sullivan, Putnam, and Orange Counties
  • Plan 019, Medicare Advantage $0 Premium, has been segmented into two plans in 2017: Plan 020-001 and Plan 020-002
  • Plan 020-002 is available in 2017 in Dutchess, Ulster, Sullivan, Putnam, and Orange Counties (Plan 020-002 is not eligible for new or renewal commissions)
  • Plan 020-001 is available in 2017 in all other counties where Plan 019 was offered in 2016
  • Fidelis Care will pay the maximum CMS allowable commissions in 2017 for Plans 001, 002, 003, 017, 019 and 020-001
  • Commissions will be paid for as long as the member is active and any/all applicable premiums are paid 
  • Writing producers must remain fully trained, credentialed, and in good-standing with Fidelis Care to be eligible for commission payments

Fidelis Care Achieves 4-Star Medicare Rating

Fidelis Care Medicare Advantage has been recognized as a 4-star plan by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). The high rating is based on the quality of care and services provided to members. Medicare evaluates plans based on a 5-star rating system. Star Ratings are calculated each year and may change from one year to the next. To determine Star Ratings, Medicare studies 48 measures related to quality, member satisfaction, and other measures. 

Broker Tips: Helping Your Members Make Their First Payment
