Too many teens and young adults struggle in silence with suicidal thoughts or behaviors. Often, these feelings are hidden, and concerns go unspoken, even when we sense someone is struggling. A caring conversation can make a real difference. That’s why Fidelis Care partners with The Jed Foundation (JED), a leading nonprofit that protects emotional health and prevents suicide for our nation’s teens and young adults.
September is Suicide Prevention Awareness Month, and JED is here to help with resources and guidance. By joining JED’s It’s OK to Say Suicide campaign, you can make a difference. Here are JED’s top five tips for getting involved this September, and all year round:
You don’t have to do everything, but doing something can make an impact. That’s why in 2024, Fidelis Care and the Centene Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Centene Corporation, provided a $1.1 million grant to JED. This partnership allowed JED to bring their lifesaving work to youth-serving community-based organizations across New York State and ultimately across the U.S., helping them better support young people with suicide prevention and mental health strategies and programs.
Let’s work together to build a world where we can prevent suicide and protect the emotional well-being of young people across the nation.
