Council Vision Statement

At Fidelis Care, we recognize that providing healthcare that acknowledges the demographic diversity of the communities we serve requires a workplace that values diversity, equity, and inclusion. Our Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Council is dedicated to fostering a work environment that mirrors this diversity, thus promoting a more inclusive, engaging, and innovative work environment.

Michael Coppa, Senior Director, Chief of Staff, has been a part of the DEI Council since its inception in 2020. Michael originally joined Fidelis Care in 2016 as the Director of Product Development. He then transitioned to the Information Technology Department, where he held leadership responsibilities for the Payment Integrity and Population Health & Clinical Operations product teams. Michael also served as the Chief of Staff to the SVP for Enterprise Business Platform. Prior to joining Fidelis Care, Michael worked for the nation's largest public hospital system in the City of New York, in various leadership roles in Social Work and Information Technology. Michael holds a bachelor’s degree in social work, as well as master’s degrees in social work and public administration. He currently lives with his husband, Adrid, in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn and is an avid runner, training for various races in his spare time.

Joenny Mora joined Fidelis Care in 2007 as a Marketing Representative and currently holds the role of Director, Sales & Marketing. In this role, he supports the continued fulfillment of Fidelis Care's mission. Formally, he also served as Co-Sponsor for CODE’s Recognition & Appreciation Subcommittee.  His achievements include completing the Fidelis Care’s Accelerated Leadership Experience (ALE) and the McKinsey Academy Management Accelerator Program.  As a husband and father of two school-age children, Joenny enjoys spending his free time with his family and supporting the development of his children. Joenny also enjoys traveling and learning about other cultures. He believes traveling supports learning, self-reflection, and overall growth.

Employee Inclusion Groups

The DEI Council regularly encourage s employees to participate in the Employee Inclusion Groups (EIGs). These groups help to improve the overall company culture and create a more inclusive, equitable, and supportive environment for our staff. Through the EIGs, employees can continue to engage in discussions and education on topics related to diversity, culture, and inclusion.

The EIGs offer various resources and opportunities for those with disabilities and their caregivers, veterans and their families, LGBTQ+ employees and their allies, women, and employees from all racial and ethnic backgrounds.

If you are looking for quality, affordable health insurance, and don’t qualify for Medicaid or Child Health Plus, then the Essential Plan offered by Fidelis Care may be for you. With expanded coverage for the Essential Plan through the NY State of Health Marketplace, more New Yorkers qualify than ever before.

The Essential Plan is a low-cost plan with no monthly premium, no deductibles, and no or low out-of-pocket costs. If you meet eligibility requirements, you can apply for the Essential Plan at any time during the year through NY State of Health, The Official Health Plan Marketplace.

Essential Plan Benefits to Support Your Health and Wellness

  • Free preventive care, like checkups with your primary care provider (PCP) and routine screenings. If you’re already an Essential Plan member with Fidelis Care and don't have a PCP, ask your Fidelis Care Representative about selecting a PCP today by calling 1-888-FIDELIS; (1-888-343-3547); TTY: 711.
  • Dental and vision coverage
  • Inpatient and outpatient hospital care
  • Prescription drugs
  • Prenatal care
  • $400 fitness reimbursement each year
  • Lab tests, X-rays, and more

Who can apply for the Essential Plan?

  • Lower-income individuals who don’t qualify for Medicaid or Child Health Plus. This can include young adults who no longer qualify for Child Health Plus or individuals who don’t have health coverage through their employer.

How much does the Essential Plan cost?

The Essential Plan has no monthly premium and very low cost sharing, for those who qualify.
