September is National Childhood Obesity Awareness Month. It is a good time for families to build healthy habits together.
Today, many children spend time each day using computers, tablets, phones, TVs, and video games. These devices can help children learn and have fun. But too much screen time can leave less time for playing, being active, spending time with family, and getting enough sleep.
A healthy balance is important. Children who spend less time sitting and more time moving are more likely to sleep well, feel better, and stay healthy.

Grants to fund innovative programs that aim to improve postpartum care and address maternal depression in underserved communities
LONG ISLAND CITY, NY (September 8, 2026) Fidelis Care, a statewide health plan with more than two million members in New York State and a Centene Corporation company, has opened applications for up to $140,000 in Here for Your Health maternal health grants.
