Final Reminder: Authorization Status Will Transition to Self-Service on May 1, 2022

Beginning May 1, 2022, all Fidelis Care providers inquiring about an authorization status will need to use the Authorization Search function on Fidelis Care’s Provider Portal, Provider Access Online. The Authorization Search function quickly gives the real-time status of an authorization, and allows your staff to submit any additional documentation if needed. Authorization status information will no longer be available by contacting the Call Center. 

 

Please note: The Provider Call Center will continue to provide authorization information regarding the approved level of care for Skilled Nursing Facilities.

 

To help ease this transition, Fidelis Care recommends your office staff review the following:

Authorization Grids

 

To perform authorization status searches, staff members need to be granted Authorizations Viewer access. Visit fideliscare.org/PAO for more information on managing Provider Access Online user roles.  It is critical that the Office Account Administrators review the level of access given to staff and make appropriate updates.

 

To view Authorization letters, they are available on the File Downloads section of the portal.  In order to be able to review those letters, staff members would need to be granted Clinical Info Viewer access.

 

To check the status of an authorization request:

  1. Use the menu on the left of the Provider Access Online home page to navigate to the Authorizations Status screen.
  2. Authorizations that you have created and saved in the last 90 days will be displayed in the ‘Authorizations Submitted Online (last 90 days only)’ view.
  3. A 9-digit authorization number is automatically assigned by the system when a user ‘Saves’ an authorization. Use the authorization number hyperlink to view the authorization details for one specific authorization.
  4. If your authorization was created more than 90 days ago, you will need to search for it. Click the ‘Search All Authorizations’ link to begin your search.
  5. Enter the member’s Subscriber ID number in the Subscriber ID field and click the Search button.
  6. After clicking the Search button, the Authorizations for that member will be displayed.
