  We all know it’s important to get a good night’s sleep. We usually notice how important sleep is when we don’t get enough of it. We feel tired, cranky and maybe a little sick. In fact, sleep is key to our well-being. February is Children’s Dental Health Month. It’s a great time to focus on the importance of good dental care for kids. Strong, healthy teeth help children speak clearly, chew their food, and feel confident when they smile. Building good habits early can prevent problems like cavities, gum disease, and pain.

Each November is Prematurity Awareness Month. A premature birth is a baby born before 37 weeks gestation. In the U.S., about one in 10 births are premature. Babies that are born preterm can face serious health problems, so maternal healthcare is important to reduce risk and help babies be the healthiest they can be because there is no single cause of preterm birth.

August is “Kids Eat Right Month.” It’s a time to encourage children to build healthy habits that can last a lifetime. With the school year approaching and routines shifting, it’s the perfect moment to pause and take a closer look at what our kids are eating—and how we can better support them. Healthy eating isn’t about strict rules or “perfect” meals. It’s about creating a balanced approach to food that fuels our children’s bodies and minds - one meal (and one snack!) at a time.
