We visited with doctors from provider partners Compassionate Family Medicine in Syracuse, Polaris Healthcare Visiting Docs in Spring Valley, and WNY Medical in Buffalo to get their thoughts in observance of National Doctors’ Day.

I cherish being a social worker. It has helped me become a better person who is more patient and resilient. I started in the social work profession as an HIV caseworker at an organization that assisted the immigrant population. My role involved addressing barriers to healthcare access. I then transitioned into the role of a medical social worker at a community health center. This experience allowed me to work with patients across different age groups, including children, adults, and the elderly.

LONG ISLAND CITY, NY (November 19, 2025) In observance of National Rural Health Day November 20, Fidelis Care, a statewide health plan with more than 2.4 million members in New York and a Centene Corporation company, has awarded $130,000 in Here for Your Health rural health grants. The grants are aimed at supporting healthcare providers and community-based organizations that imagine and create innovative solutions to increase preventive care in rural communities across New York State.

LONG ISLAND CITY, N.Y., Nov. 7, 2025 – Ambetter from Fidelis Care — offered by Fidelis Care, a Centene Corporation company — will offer a variety of affordable health insurance plans to New York residents in 56 counties for plan year 2026. The open enrollment period for the NY State of Health (the New York State Based Exchange) runs from Nov. 1, 2025, through Jan. 31, 2026. Enroll by Dec. 15, 2025, for coverage starting Jan. 1, 2026.
