Fidelis Care, Wellcare, and partners Cornell Cooperative Extension and the University of Rochester Medical Center’s Wilmot Cancer Institute launched a series of free healthy cooking demonstrations at the Rochester Public Market this spring. The grant is part of $315,000 in donations by Fidelis Care to nonprofit organizations on the front lines of fighting hunger across New York State. Food insecurity impacts about one in 10 New York households.

Fidelis Care Chief Medical Officer Dr. Vincent Marchello presented a $20,000 maternal health grant to Life of Hope in Brooklyn. The funding is one of nine grants awarded to community-based not-for-profit organizations that support maternal health and wellness across New York State. The grants, totaling $158,000, will assist these organizations that play a vital role in ensuring safe pregnancies and healthy babies – particularly for underserved, lower-income women and their families.

LONG ISLAND CITY, NY [January10, 2024] – Fidelis Care, a statewide health plan with more than 2.5 million members in New York State and a wholly owned subsidiary of Centene Corporation, announced the distribution of $315,000 in grant funding to 20 organizations dedicated to combating food insecurity and alleviating hunger across the state.
