Fidelis Care Chief Medical Officer Dr. Vincent Marchello presented a $20,000 maternal health grant to Life of Hope in Brooklyn. The funding is one of nine grants awarded to community-based not-for-profit organizations that support maternal health and wellness across New York State. The grants, totaling $158,000, will assist these organizations that play a vital role in ensuring safe pregnancies and healthy babies – particularly for underserved, lower-income women and their families.

LONG ISLAND CITY, NY [January10, 2024] – Fidelis Care, a statewide health plan with more than 2.5 million members in New York State and a wholly owned subsidiary of Centene Corporation, announced the distribution of $315,000 in grant funding to 20 organizations dedicated to combating food insecurity and alleviating hunger across the state. Food insecurity impacts about one in ten households in New York.

In its second year, the Fidelis Care ‘Veggies to Go’ program distributed 1,770 bags of healthy food to individuals and families in need. That adds up to 35,400 pounds of fresh fruits and vegetables given out in 2023, a 68 percent increase over the inaugural year of the program. Veggies to Go addresses nutrition and food insecurity in urban and rural communities across New York State.
