Fidelis Care's seventh annual Backpack Heroes campaign ended Thursday with another great year: $106,888 was raised to help fight childhood hunger in the Capital Region.
In partnership with the Regional Food Bank of Northeastern New York and WRGB-TV (CBS-6), the program benefits the Food Bank's Backpack Program, which provides healthy foods for kids and families in need over the weekends throughout the school year. Since the program's inception, Fidelis Care has helped raise more than $600,000.
“The Backpack Heroes program would not be possible without the unwavering commitment Fidelis Care has shown year over year,” said Betsy Dickson, Director of Children’s Programs for the Regional Food Bank of Northeastern New York.
