Fidelis Care announced today a partnership with God’s Love We Deliver, the New York City metropolitan area’s leading provider of medically tailored meals and nutrition counseling for people living with severe illness. Select clinical partners and primary care providers will refer eligible Fidelis Care members with chronic health conditions to receive home-delivered meals from God’s Love We Deliver free of cost, regardless of income.

New York State’s Genetic Screening Program was started in 1965 and now tests for more than 45 different conditions. Tests are performed using a few drops of a baby’s blood to identify certain genetic conditions that may permanently impact newborns and their families.

Sickle cell disease is an inherited blood disorder that affects red blood cells.  Individuals with sickle cell disease have red blood cells that primarily contain hemoglobin S, an abnormal type of hemoglobin.
