Pregnancy Information for Essential Plan Members

Effective April 1, 2024, Essential Plan (EP) members who become pregnant and report their pregnancy to NY State of Health, The Official Health Plan Marketplace will stay in their current plan rather than move to a Medicaid plan. This change by NY State of Health will help ensure safe pregnancies and healthy babies.

Additional details are:

  • EP members must report their pregnancy to NY State of Health to ensure their eligibility is up to date.
  • EP members will typically remain eligible for EP, but will have the option to move to Medicaid if they wish to opt out of EP coverage.
  • During their pregnancy and a 12-month postpartum period, members will have cost-sharing waived for all services.

BabyCare

Fidelis Care offers a special program called BabyCare to support the health of members during pregnancy.
