Behavioral Health Resources
Behavioral health refers to mental health and substance use conditions that impact how people think, feel, and live their daily lives.
Mental Health
Mental health is an essential part of our overall health and includes emotional, psychological, and
social well-being. The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) defines
mental illness as a condition that affects a person’s thinking, feelings,
behavior, or mood. These conditions deeply impact day-to-day living and may
also affect the ability to relate to others.
In the United States, 1
in 5 adults and 1 in 7 youth (ages 6–17)
experience a mental health
condition each year.
