Cyberbullying is harassment that takes place over digital devices, social media platforms, and gaming experiences. According to the Pew Research Center, 59% of U.S. teens have been bullied or harassed online.

In recognition of National Nutrition Month this March, Fidelis Care encourages New York residents to make small changes and explore food habits that can help improve diet, nutrition literacy, and healthy outcomes.

Cervical Cancer affects over 14,000 women per year in the United States. The age of cervical cancer varies, but in the United States the average age of diagnosis is 50 years old.  In many cases, this is a curative disease, however in advanced stages the five year survival is less than 50%. 

Fidelis Care has awarded Neighborhood Health Center of WNY $8,000 to assist in their efforts to address the digital divide some patients have experienced during the pandemic. The funds will help provide access to technology and services for patients to better communicate with their health care providers.

Fidelis Care has awarded Northwell Health a $25,000 grant to help support continued efforts targeting social determinants of health in diverse communities. The program is led by Northwell's Department of Community and Population Health.

LONG ISLAND CITY, NY [July 10, 2024] – Fidelis Care, a statewide health plan with more than 2.4 million members in New York State and a wholly owned subsidiary of Centene Corporation (NYSC: CNC), announced its commitment to educate the public about the increased eligibility of the Essential Plan, which aims to bridge the gap for those who may not qualify for Medicaid Managed Care but still need access to quality, low-cost health insurance. Expanded eligibility now makes the program available to more than 100,000 more New Yorkers.

July is Bebe Moore Campbell National Minority Mental Health Awareness Month. This observance, also known as BIPOC Mental Health Month, is named after Moore Campbell for bringing awareness to the mental health needs of Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) communities. Erlinda Delacruz, MA, Director of Community Programs for The Jed Foundation (JED), shared insight into the importance of the month and how the organization is working to promote understanding and offer support.

The grants range from $10,000 to $20,000 each and are aimed at assisting providers and community-based organizations that support behavioral health and wellness, especially in underserved communities. The application is available at fideliscare.org/BH-grants. Deadline to apply is 5 p.m. EDT May 31, 2024.

Food insecurity impacts about one in ten households in New York.

The grants will assist community-based organizations that play a vital role in ensuring safe pregnancies and healthy babies – particularly for underserved, lower-income women and their families across New York.
